About

Hi I’m Emily, the creator of Alfie and Ethel. Sewing has been a hobby of mine for a while, so during lockdown I decided to put my creativity to good use. This started by hand crafting facemasks to help protect loved ones and raise money for a charity close to my heart, Dementia UK.  Having had Grandparents who suffered from this terribly unfair disease I wanted to help Dementia UK who help provide specialist dementia support for families through their Admiral nurse service, something that became increasingly difficult during lockdown.

The masks were a huge hit with family and friends and our brand, Alfie and Ethel, sprung to life.

Alfie is our 3 year old son who has tried his hand at sewing through these lockdown months usually dressed as Fireman Sam. Ethel joined the family a little under a year ago and now we struggle to remember a time before she was around.

Since then we’ve been busy creating our handmade products at our family home in Yorkshire.

We hope that Alfie and Ethel continues to brighten the days of our customers through our fun modern print selection, bright colours and always keeping the personal touch at the forefront of our creations.
